First-of-its-Kind SuperPot Certified in Ontario Market
iGaming Ontario has legalized a new form of sports betting that allows licensed operators to offer gamers in the province a combination of the excitement of high-stakes casino-style jackpots and the familiarity of sports forecasts.
Known as SuperPot, its makers at Delasport claim that it will be a supplement to sports betting in the province's fiercely competitive iGaming sector.
The GLI has validated SuperPot. SuperPot participants use a must-win mechanism to forecast the results of numerous important sporting events.
The pot is gradually increased by their purchased tickets, establishing a competition and a shared pool that increases as more people participate. One feature is real-time leaderboards, which resemble a betting competition.
Prediction Meets Jackpots Like in a Casino
Even if a player doesn't properly forecast every outcome in a series of games, they still win if they have the most accurate predictions. This increases excitement by guaranteeing a winner every day. Because tickets are inexpensive, operators may easily and affordably entice gamers from the casino side to switch to sports betting. For those who already wager on sports, it improves their experience and makes winning easier.
Sports betting is placing real money bets on particular results, such as wins and losses, spreads, and totals, with payments based on predetermined odds that are set by a bookmaker. Turnover in Sports Betting of $10 Billion
iGO projects that Ontario's sportsbook revenue will reach around $10 billion by 2025. According to Ferri, SuperPot has the potential to generate an additional 2%–4% in revenue.
Thirty-five of Ontario's fifty authorized iGaming providers provide sports betting platforms.
